Voice Translator uses an online translation service, so it needs an internet connection to translate. Your saved recent translations can still be viewed offline, but new translations require a connection.
Translations are automatic and may not always be perfect, especially for slang, names or long sentences. Try rephrasing more simply, check the source language is set correctly, or split a long sentence into shorter parts.
The microphone is used only while you record speech for voice translation, and the camera only while you point it at text for camera translate. The app does not record in the background, and you are always asked first.
The text, speech or images you translate are sent to our online translation service only to produce the translation and are not used to identify you. Your recent translations and favorites, if you save them, stay on your device. See our Privacy Policy.
No. Voice Translator is an independent app and is not affiliated with Google, Microsoft or any other translation provider; it uses a third-party online translation service to power translations.
The app is free and supported by ads. Any optional paid features, if offered, are processed through Google Play Billing and their price is shown before you buy. Manage or cancel purchases in the Play Store under Payments & subscriptions.
If a consent prompt appeared when you first opened the app, you can decline personalized ads there. You can also reset or opt out of your Advertising ID in Android via Settings → Privacy → Ads. Clearing app data lets the prompt appear again.
Clear your recent translations in the app, or clear the app's storage or uninstall it to remove on-device data. To request deletion of any data held by us or our partners, email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Send us a message and we'll get back to you within 1–2 business days.
